[Also in Division G1] A current transformer for connection to two phases A, B of a three-phase supply comprises a magnetic core formed of two loops 41a, 41b, primary and secondary windings 42, 43 for phase A carried on a central core limb common to both loops, and primary and secondary windings for phase B each split into two equal halves 45a, 45b and 47a, 47b carried on core limbs in respective loops. There is no interaction between the phases so that the arrangement is functionally equivalent to two separate transformers, but the higher magnetization levels are said to improve accuracy.
