[Also in Division B3] Moulds for foundry cores are made by coating a core former with a first layer of a composition comprising at least one curable straight or branched chain organo-polysiloxane, up to 10 wt. per cent of a monomer and/or polymer crosslinkable with the organo-polysiloxane, a filler and a catalyst, polymerizing and/or cross-linking the first layer, coating this layer with a layer of polymerizable epoxy resin and polymerizing this resin. The core of the polysiloxane layer is preferably incomplete when the epoxy resin layer is applied. The epoxy resin layer may contain 200-1000 wt. per cent of a filler such as foundry sand, silica powder, aluminium granules or textile materials or fibres.
