Abstract

1,266,610. Caps for bottles. A. C. LINSTROM. 27 March, 1969 [10 April, 1968; 31 Oct., 1968], No. 16127/69. Heading B8T. A resealable closure on a glass, plastics or metal container 10 comprises an inner dispensing cap 12 which resiliently grips a lip 11 of the container, is prevented from rotation with respect to the container by projections 19 on the lip 11 and has a downwardly and outwardly extending flange 13 with radial grooves 18 on its inner side and an asymmetrically profiled helical thread 17 on its outer side. The outermost external diameter of the flange 13 is larger than the largest internal diameter of an outer cap 15 which is internally threaded with a similar asymmetric profile 16. The inner cap orifice is sealed by a plug depending from the inside of the outer cap 15 which may be pressed on to the inner cap flexing the grooved flange 13. To separate the closure the outer cap must be screwed off.
