Abstract

1,266,467. Lifting pallets. MENASHA CORP. 12 Aug., 1970 [21 Aug., 1969], No. 38950/70. Heading B8H. A pallet construction comprises a fibre-board platform 7 which is supported on plastics legs, each leg comprising a cup portion 10 which is connected to the platform 7 by means of a plastics locking ring 11 which has an annular groove 27 into which a locking shoulder 16 on the cup wall portion 10 fits, the cup 10 and ring 11 having annular flanges 12, 20 between which the platform 7 is compressed and frictionally held by protrusions 13, 14, 21, 22 as shown. Alternatively the ring and cup may be connected by means of a groove (67) in the cup portion into which an annular flange portion (68) on the ring is received, Fig. 7 (not shown), or the cup and ring may be connected by complementary screw threaded sections. In modified pallet constructions, Figs. 8, 9 (not shown), bottom runner strips (8) or bottom pallets (4) may be attached to the bottom of the pallet feet or the pallet foot and locking ring may be formed as a single piece, Fit. 14 (not shown).
