Abstract

1,265,784. Demountable filter element. U.C.C. HYDRAULICS Ltd. 6 Feb., 1970, No. 5752/ 70. Heading BID. A demountable filter element comprises a tube 4 of nylon mesh enclosing a helical spring 3 and turned down inside the spring at each end, with rigid nylon end members screwed into the ends of the spring by virtue of external grooves or ridges on the members, the downturned ends of the tube 4 being gripped between the spring and end members. One end member is a closure cap with a hexagonal blind hole, the other has an external support flange. Dimensions may be such that the spring is under axial compression to hold tube 4 taut.
