[Also in Division C3] A conveyer belt 5 manufactured from natural or synthetic rubber mixtures and reinforcing plies, e.g. continuous steel wire cables is vulcanized in press 1. The belt, completely enveloped by webs 8, 8a of parting means, e.g. silicone treated paper, is fed via rollers 14 to guide rollers 17 and forms several compensating loops 15, in which dancing rollers 16 are inserted. A separate compensating loop 18 is formed after the belt passes through clamp 13. Dancing roller 19 may be located so that, with clamp 13 closed, a stretching tension acts on the belt. On completion of vulcanization, press 1 opens and the movement of plate 13 produces a switching impulse for rollers 10 which draw the belt out of the press. Subsequent sections of the belt, with clamp 13 closed, are drawn out of loop 18 into the press. A switching impulse produced by roller 19 in the upper position causes 13 to open and clamp 12 to close, whereby a further length of belt is supplied from loop 15. Squeeze rollers 10 automatically shut down after a belt section corresponding to the length of the press has been drawn forward, thus initiating the closing stroke of the press. A plurality of belts may be fed simultaneously to the press.
