[Also in Division E1] A building panel suitable for use in roof or wall construction is produced by supporting along opposed edges two sheets of corrugated material having their ridges and troughs in register with one another, applying pressure to the central region of one of the sheets to deform both sheets out of the plane passing through the edges and transverse to the direction of the ridges and troughs, permanently securing together the sheets by means engaging at least some of the ridges and releasing the pressure so that the panel remains pre-stressed and cambered. The panel may comprise more than two corrugated sheets, each pair of sheets being separated by a flat sheet of thermally insulating material, and the voids within the panel defined by co-operating corrugations may be filled with thermally insulating material. The sheets of each panel may have identically formed corrugations. Alternatively the shapes and proportions of the corrugations may vary from sheet to sheet as long as the pitch thereof remains the same. The sheets may be secured together along the ridges by means of bolts, rivets or weld seams.
