Abstract

1,265, 346. I.C. engine cylinder heads and valve gear. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURGNURNBERG A.G. Oct.2, 1969 [Oct.3, 1968], No.48494/69. Heading F1B. Valve cages 5 and 6 are removably mounted between surfaces 17 of a housing 15 for the valve operating mechanism and seats in the cylinder head 1. Spring washers 18 are provided between the surfaces 17 and the cages 5 and 6. Pairs of inlet valves 7 and exhaust valves 8 are operated by a respective push-rod 13, rocker 10, 12 and bridge piece 9, 11. The rocker shaft 14 is supported in the housing 15 which has removable covers 21, 22. The housing 15 has inlets 29 and 30 for valve cage cooling liquid and rocker lubricant, respectively, and carries a fuel injector casing 20. The cylinder head 1 has cooling water inlet and outlet connections 24 and 25 and a fuel leak-off connection 26, and a fuel supply conduit 27 extends through a passage 28 between the housing 15 and the head.
