Abstract

126,352. Tritton, Sir W. A. Jan. 5, 1917. Vehicles, cleaning.-Mud &c. is removed from the endless tracks of motor-tractors by water, preferably under pressure, and lubricant is subsequently applied by the same channels. Water supplied by a flexible pipe g to one or more tubes e is sprayed through nozzles f on to and through the upper stretch of the endless track, which is supported by rollers b. The refuse is delivered by sloping plates l to discharge openings k on one or both sides of the frame c carrying the track. After the track is cleaned, the pipe g is connected to a supply of lubricant under pressure. Finally, the pipe g is disconnected and the tube e is filled with thick grease to prevent the entrance of mud &c., or the pipe may be closed bv an external sleeve valve or otherwise.
