Abstract
1,262,699. Photo-electric control. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. Nov.21, 1969 [Dec. 12, 1968], No.57173/69. Heading G1A. [Also in Divisions F1 and G3] The duration of opening of electromagnetically actuated I. C. engine fuel injectors 16, 17 is controlled by an apertured disc 18 driven by the engine. A lamp 20 connected in a circuit including the engine ignition switch 25 energizes a photoelectric cell 21 through the disc apertures 23. The cell 21 is connected to the injectors 16, 17 through an amplifying relay 28, an intensity limiting device 29 and a distributer 30. The lamp and cell housings 26, 27 are mounted on a support 22 coupled to the rod 12 of a diaphragm 5 subjected to the vacuum in the chamber 9 between a driver controlled valve 2 and a valve 3 operated by the diaphragm. The support 22 moves towards the disc shaft 19 as the valve 3 opens to provide a substantially constant fuel-air ratio.
