Abstract

1,262,208. Valves. ROBERTSHAW CONTROLS CO. 8 April, 1969 [8 April, 1968; 1 Nov., 1968], No. 54072/69. Divided out of 1,260,934. Heading F2V. A valve for use in a pneumatic control system comprises a one-piece diaphragm 116 having a plurality of spaced diaphragm portions 153, 154 and 155 and a housing cooperating therewith to define a plurality of stacked chambers 117, 118, 119 and 120, the diaphragm having a portion 163 to co-operate with opposed valve seats 137 and 146 projecting into the housing. When the pressure differential between signal sources 171 and 172 overcomes a spring 166, the valve seat 137 is opened and the valve seat 146 closed to disconnect a pneumatically operated device 169 from a connection 148 to atmosphere and connect it to a vacuum or pressure source 170. The parts of the housing are of moulded plastic and are held in assembled relation by a tongue 127 snapfitted into a groove 126.
