Abstract
1,260,953. Hammer mills. ULTREX CHEMIE G.m.b.H. 27 Feb.; 1969 [27 Feb., 1968; 10 Dec., 1968], No. 10621/69. Heading B2A. A mill 1 comprises a swing-hammer rotor 2 horizontally mounted in a housing, the lower part of which forms a screen grid 4 and the upper part a loading chute 8, and a discharge chute 11. The loading chute is at 30 to 60 to the horizontal. The discharge chute is inclined to the horizontal and is angled at its upper end 13 which leads to a downwardlydirected discharge orifice 14. The casing is in two parts 5, 6 which may be opened by means 9, 9'. The chute 11 is inclined at 45 and has a deflecting ramp 12. In operation material, e.g. refuse supplied at 8, is comminuted and falls through the grid 4. Larger pieces are thrown against the plate 13 and heavy pieces fall back via the chute 11 and are broken up between the hammers and teeth 5'..5'''. Other unbreakable pieces are deflected by the plate 13 to the outlet 14. During operation this is sealed by a weighted lid (17) Fig. 3 (not shown). An adjustable plate (13') may be fitted, Fig. 3.
