Abstract
1,260,939. Antidepressants. ASSIA CHEMICAL LABORATORIES Ltd. 21 April, 1969 [6 May, 1968], No. 20164/69. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral, parenteral or topical administration, contain beta-hydrazino-alkanoic acids of the formulae: H 2 N.NR 3 .CHR 2 .CHR 1 .COOH or R 3 NH.NH.CHR 2 .CHR 1 .COOH wherein R 1 and R 2 , the same or different, are H, phenyl or C 1-5 alkyl; and R 3 is H, C 1-6 alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl or phenethyl; or esters, acid halides, amides or salts thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents therefor. The said compounds are monoamine inhibitors and have antidepressant activity.
