Abstract

1,260,201. Measuring for footwear; measuring tapes. QUENOT & CIE. S. A. R. L. Jan. 2, 1969 [Feb. 12, 1968], No.390/69. Headings G1M, G1X. A device for measuring shoe sizes comprises a casing 8 having a window 9 with a reading marker 10, a graduated tape 1 wound in the casing and extending through an outlet in a wall 11 of the casing, the graduations being readable against the marker 10 to read directly in shoe sizes, and an angle member 4 upstanding from the tape 1 adapted to lie against the wall 11 when the tape is retracted into the casing 8 and arranged so that when the tape is pulled out by means of a pull-out ring 6 and a foot or shoe is placed thereon, the distance between the member 4 and wall 11 will be indicated at the marker 10 as a standard shoe size. The shoe size graduations are preferably marked on the underside 3 of the tape 1, a metric scale or publicity text being marked on the side 2 of the tape.
