Abstract
1,259,437. Ionization gas detectors. NITTAN CO. Ltd. Feb. 24, 1970 [April 25, 1969], No. 8946/70. G1N. In an ionization smoke detector a single ionization chamber 8 is connected to the gate of a FET 14 whose source-drain path is connected across a voltage supply. The leakage impedance between the gate and drain eletrodes then serves as a high resistor (normally provided by a reference ionization chamber). Sensitivity control and operation testing may be provided by a potentiometer 28.
