Abstract
1,257,226. Iron oxide; sulphur dioxide. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 2 April, 1969 [4 April, 1968], No. 17179/69. Heading C1A. In roasting arsenical pyrites the arsenic content of the solid product i.e. Fe 2 O 3 is reduced by adding previously roasted arsenical pyrites to the first stage of a two stage fluidized bed roaster. In the example pyrites having an arsenic content of 0À35% is mixed with roasted pyrites of arsenic content 0À4% the arsenic content of the resulting roasted material being 0À04% by weight whereas 0À14% by weight ofarsenic was to have been expected.
