Abstract

125,325. Edison Swan Electric Co., and Shergold, F. Oct. 25, 1918. Fusible cut-outs.-A combined switch and fuse comprises an insulating-block 7 carrying three metal lugs 16, one of which has a bayonet slot 9, Fig. 5, so that the block and the fuse and contacts which it carries may be removably hinged on a pin 15 carried by the member 10 on the base 1 or panel of the switch. The other two lugs are mounted one at each side of the enlargement 11 of the block, and a fuse wire 4 passing through a slot in the enlargement is connected to the two lugs. The free outer lug has hinged to a quickaction blade 5 under the influence of a spring 18 passing round its pivot. The fixed contacts on the base or panel are shown at 2 and 3. Two removable side walls 19 on the base may be used. Where a number of switches, as described, are mounted side by side, the single side wall, as shown, serves to isolate each switch.
