Abstract
1,251,218. Reciprocating pumps and motors. VON ROLL A.G. Nov.22, 1968 [Nov.22, 1967], No.55628/68. Heading F1A. In an hydraulic apparatus, two pump or motor units 5, 6 in a housing 1 and one of which has a drive-shaft 34 or (35) are mechanically interconnected e.g. by inter-meshing gear rings 38, 39 on the units. In the embodiments described, the units are of the swash plate type with the gear rings 38, 39 mounted on their rotary cylinder blocks 7, 8, and have shafts 9, 10 journalled in the housing cover 2 by bearings 19, 20 held by C-rings 26, 27, and retained in housing cover 3 by bearings 21, 22. The shafts are sealed from fluid in the housing by retaining discs 24, 25 secured against the cover 2 by O-rings 28, 29, and seals 32, 33 that slide on bushings 30, 31. The shaft may converge Fig.2 (not shown), in which case the units are inter-connected by bevel gears (50), (51), or may project outside opposite covers 2, 3, Fig.3 (not shown) one unit being directed oppositely to the other. It is stated that more than two units may be included in one housing and that the gear-wheels may be engaged by an intermediate pinion.
