Abstract
1,250,859. Horizontal coke ovens. HEINDRICH KOPPERS G.m.b.H. 14 Sept., 1970 [19 Sept., 1969], No. 43872/70. Heading F4B. Bottom recirculation ports 4 connecting twin heating flues 1, 2 of a horizontal coke oven, are provided in the form of duets of circular crosssection which are of a smaller size than the individual bricks of a partition wall 5 separating the flues, so that the brick bond of the partition wall courses containing the ducts is not interrupted. Preferably two groups of four such ports are provided in the bottom two brick courses of the wall. A plate 6 may be used to block the flow through a group of ports.
