Abstract

1,250,434. Cleaning window and wall surfaces. ALPANA ALUMINUM PRODUCTS Inc. Feb. 3, 1970 [March 17, 1969], No. 5008/70. Heading A4F. Apparatus movable in a particular direction of travel, e.g. vertically, over the window and wall surfaces of a building has means, such as liquid spraying nozzles 32 and a rotary brush 20, for washing the surfaces, and suction squeegee pick-up means to remove liquid from the surfaces including a squeegee having a mouth with spaced flexible walls, positioned obliquely with respect to the said direction of travel. The squeegee illustrated in Fig. 1 has two pairs of parallel flexible blades 48, 52 and 62, 68 arranged in a V-formation at the vortex of which a port 84 communicates with the housing 86 of a suction fan unit. In alternative embodiments Figs.6 and 9 (not shown) the squeegee blades are arranged as an inverted or consist of two parallel inclined blades only.
