Abstract

1,249,564. Transformers. B. WAASNER. 30 Jan., 1969 [4 March, 1968], No. 5159/69. Heading H1T. A core sheet comprises two like members each having an end limb 2, 2a, a yoke 1, la and a part of the central limb 3, 3a abutting the other member and a mating projection 9 and recess on abutting edges of the yoke 1 and limb 2a to prevent relative movement of the members in the plane of the sheet. The central limb 3 may be divided diagonally and its narrow end may fit into a recess in the yoke la, such that the abutting edges of the limb 3 press together. The sheet is assembled by elastic deformation of the members when inserting the projections 9 into the recesses, this engagement securely locking the members together. The projections 9 and recesses may be substantially rectangular (Fig. 2, not shown) or the edges (20, 21) may be inclined to the direction of the yoke (22) (Fig. 3, not shown). To facilitate assembly the abutting edges (30, 31) of the yoke (33) and limb (32) may incline to the direction of the yoke (Fig. 5, not shown). A bore (36) may be provided at the two abutting corners for screws, enabling a stack of sheets to be assembled.
