Abstract

1,249,487. Photographic processing apparatus. AGFA-GEVAERT A. G, Nov. 15, 1968 [Nov. 18, 1967], No.54338/68. Heading G2A. Apparatus for the continuous processing of photographic strip material comprises a processing tank 1 containing a stationary drum 2 incorporating a heater, the jacket of the drum being provided with guide means 5 which define a helical path extending round the drum from an inlet in the tank wall to an outlet in the tank wall, and means within the tank for advancing strip material along the helical path. A support 16 for a film cartridge 18 is provided at the path inlet end, reception rollers 14, 15 guiding the film strip 7 into the path. The edges only of the film strip are engaged in grooves 6 formed in the guide means. A drive platform 24 supports grooved drive wheels (20, 21) Fig. 6 (not shown), which wheels lie in the plane of the guide 5 with the grooves lying in the film path. By means of gearing the film is advanced to an outlet 19. A partition 8 is provided to divide the tank into two chambers 10, 11 for different processing liquids. Two or more tanks may be arranged in series for successive treatments.
