Abstract

1,248,574. Furnace linings. DIMO Ltd. 25 Feb., 1969 [22 Dec., 1967], No. 58485/67. Heading F4B. [Also in Division H5] A cylindrical furnace lining 9 comprises a plurality of Gilliminite bricks 11 formed with inwardly facing slots or recesses 20 for receiving. a support arrangement 28 for mounting and locating furnace electrical resistance heating elements 44. The support arrangement 28 comprises a plurality of vertically spaced rows of alternately arranged bricks 31, 33 each having an outer portion engaging within a respective slot 20. Each of the bricks 33 is held in position by gravity by the engagement of a nose 35 with a shoulder 25. A block 18 located in the furnace lining houses a pyrometer. Grooves (14, Fig. 4) are provided in the upper surface of some of the bricks 11 for the passage of electrical leads.
