Abstract

1,246,539. Golf club shafts. BEN SAYERS Ltd. 9 Feb., 1970 [4 March, 1969], No. 11385/69. Heading A6D. A tubular golf club shaft has a cylindrical head end of constant wall thickness which is shortened to adjust the shaft's length and flexibility characteristics. By appropriate shortening of the cylindrical heads of a set of identical "stock" shafts a set of shafts suitable for a matched set of clubs may be produced. Such "stock" shafts may also each have one or more sections which continuously decrease in diameter and increase in wall thickness towards the head end.
