Photographic apparatus, e.g. for recording a plurality of separate images on a single photosensitive sheet, has an optical system consisting of a first lens 4 for focusing the image of a subject to be photographed in a first focal plane A of a second lens 1 having a plurality of microlens elements 1a---1n, the microlenses focusing the image in a second focal plane in discrete portions, a photo-sensitive sheet 2 supported in the second focal plane, and a third lens 5 lying between the first and second lenses and movable relative to the first lens to vary the positions of the discrete portions with respect to the photo-sensitive sheet. Reference is made to the production of 49 images on a single sheet of photo-sensitive material by allowing 7 steps in each of the vertical and horizontal directions.
