Abstract

1,245,331. Photo-sensitive stencils. LECTROETCH CO. Feb. 4, 1969, No.6012/69. Headings G2C and G2M. A photo-sensitive stencil comprises a support of woven single filaments of polyester with 200 to 300 fibres per inch each way coated on one or both sides with a photo-polymerizable coating. The photo-polymerizable coating is preferably polyvinyl cinnamate sensitized with a nitroaryl compound as disclosed in Specification 713, 947. The stencil may be imagewise exposed and developed with ethylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate and tricresyl phosphate and optionally a dye (as disclosed in Specification 888, 935) to remove the unexposed areas and leave a dyed and plasticized stencil which is used in electrolytic etching.
