Abstract

1, 245, 138. Anemometers. CHARBONNAGES DE FRANCE. Dec.30, 1968 [Dec. 29, 1967], No.61720/68. Heading G1N. In an electrothermal anemometer, two electrically heated thermistors, e.g. bead thermistors 21, 22, contained in a bridge circuit, are symmetrically mounted on opposite sides of a pierced diaphragm 3 such that for either direction of gas flow, one element is subjected to a high speed jet of gas through the orifice in the diaphragm and the other element to a slower speed flow of gas to compensate for temperature and flow variations. The anemometer may be adapted for use with an inflammable gas or a gas charged with dust by providing a porous wall e.g. of sintered metal or a filter, respectively, on each side of the meter, Fig. 5 (not shown).
