1,244,052. Strainer nozzle for sand bed filter. BELL BROS. (MANCHESTER) Ltd. 23 April, 1969, No. 20632/69. Heading B1D. A strainer nozzle for draining filtrate from a sand bed filter comprises inner and outer cylindrical plastics members 10, 12, screwed together and having arcuate slots, which are staggered so that the radial gap of 0.01 to 0.02 inches between the members effects the sole communication between inner member slots 20 and outer member slots 32. The members are separated for cleaning. The threaded end of the inner member screws into a bed supporting plate or pipe end.
