Abstract

1,244,025. Releasable fastenings. Y. DIDRY. 10 Oct., 1968 [26 Oct., 1967], No. 48075/ 68. Heading E2B. A structural assembly comprises two elongated angled sections nesting one within the other and a clip formed of resiliently flexible material comprising a central part 7 and a lateral arm 8, 9 extending from each end of the central part, each lateral arm being inclined to the central part, the central part and the ends of the lateral arms acting between the abutment defined by an angle (between a web 5 and flange 6) of the inner angled section and an opposed abutment (between a flange 3 and lip 4) of the outer angled section to fix the two angled sections together. In the simplest form the central part and the arms of the clip are all rectilinear the angles between the arms and the central part being obtuse. In a modification however the central part is formed with a loop which bears against the sheet metal member 5 and in another modification the central part is itself substantially U shaped and bears against a sheet metal member 5. In a third modification each of the arms is doubly cranked.
