Abstract

1,243,396. Foods. GRUN K.G. MASCHINENFABRIK GEB. 16 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 39412/68. Heading A2B. [Also in Division B1] A method of preparing food preparations comprises feeding a pulverulent foodstuff into chamber 1 provided with a radial bladed fan 8 having a slinger disc 4 arranged on it, spraying a liquid from nozzles 11 on the pulverulent foodstuff as it is slung off the disc in order to wet it, and causing the not adequately wetted particles to be separated from the main stream of particles circulating about the axis of the chamber to be returned to the spraying zone and the adequately wetted particles to be discharged through outlet 3. The foodstuff may be mushrooms or noodles and the liquid a fat mixture, or the foodstuff may be potato starch and the liquid a coloured solution.
