Abstract

1,242,377. Electric couplings. J. LE ROUZIC and G. MASCARIN. 12 March, 1970 [20 March, 1969]. No. 12003/70. Heading H2E. A connector assembly for making electrical connection between plastics or paper insulated wires, 112, 113 comprises a metal plug member 120 with a large diameter part 121 and a reduced diameter part 122 slidably engaged in a hollow metal cylinder 110 provided with a slot 111 through half the circumference for receiving the wires 112, 113 such that on forcing in the plug the wires are bent and the insulation torn to effect electrical connection between the wires. The assembly is covered in a protective plastics cylinder 100 and the connector surfaces tinned for improved electrical connection and reduction of friction. Assemblies are initially connected by frangible sections 101 joining the cylinders 100.
