Abstract

1,241,006. Knitting-machines. E. MAYER [trading as MAYER & CIE]. 26 July, 1968 [23 Sept., 1967], No. 35726/68. Heading D1C. To avoid causing a permanent crease in the edges 2a of the flattened tubular fabric produced on a circular machine when it is wound up on a receiving roller 3 the ends 3b of the roller are relieved by either stepping or tapering them such that they are of reduced diameter compared with that of the central portion. The edges of the fabric are thereby relaxed and are less tight on the roller than the remainder of the fabric.
