Abstract

1,240,231. Supply circuits for electric lamps. BOFORS A.B. 18 April, 1969 [18 April, 1968], No. 20046/69. Heading H2H. A lighting system, e.g. for a digital display comprises a number of lamps which may be illuminated in any desired combination. The lamps 12-18 are connected in series with each other and with a constant current device across a D.C. source 9, 10. The constant current device comprises a resistor 29 and a transistor 11, the base of which is connected to a potentiometer 20. In parallel with each lamp, there is connected the collector-emitter path of a transistor 22-28, the base voltage of which is controlled, so that the corresponding lamp may be shortcircuited, the current through the other lamps remaining constant. The transistors 22-28 may be replaced by relays or other switching devices.
