Abstract
1,239,587. Welding by fusion. BOFORS A.B. 18 Nov., 1968 [16 Nov., 1967], No. 54646/68. Heading B3R. [Also in Division C7] A filler material for welding hardenable corrosion resisting steels is made from a steel comprising:- the balance, apart from inpurities and incidental elements, being Fe. The steels are preferably made by vacuum melting to avoid the presence of non-metallic inclusions. The steel to be welded may be of the type disclosed in U.K. Specifications 994,925 and 948,964 when the filler material will have a composition corresponding to that of the workpiece apart from the carbon content. The welding may be effected using the MIG (argon), TIG (argon) or metal arc (electrode with or without coating) process.
