[Also in Division H2] An apparatus for supplying a number of consumer units of a motor vehicle from a common source 1, has each group of units 6, 7 connected to a distribution box 4, 5 respectively, the connections 2, 3 from the source 1 to the distribution boxes 4, 5 being formed by leads having a main current carrying conductor and a control conductor by means of which switching devices in the distribution boxes may be actuated to connect or disconnect the units 6, 7 to or from the source 1. The switching devices may be of an electromagnetic or electronic type. Each connection 2 or 3 is formed of a single heavy supply conductor surrounded by a tube 8 of insulating material in which tube are incorporated a number of conductors 9, one for each distribution box, serving as control conductors therefor. The conductors 9 are in serpentine form so that bending of the tube 8 does not cause fracture thereof.
