Abstract

1,237,577. Bookbinding. TWINLOCK Ltd. 27 Jan., 1970 [6 Dec., 1968], No. 58075/68. Heading B6A. A permanent binding device for loose-leaves comprises a tube 1b one end of which is closed by a head 2b which retains the leaves on the tube whose walls are provided with diametrally opposite axially spaced pairs of notches 3b cooperating with base 8b on a frusto-conical head 6b which is fast with the shank 4b of a stem the other end of which is provided with a leaf retaining head 7b. The tube'and stem are made of plastics material and the frusto-conical head 6b is received in the tube with an interference fit. The length of the tube may be cut to the size required before the stem is inserted into the tube. In another embodiment the tube is short and provided with only one pair of notches (3, Fig. 1) and in a further embodiment the notches (3c, Fig.6) are staggered and the stem is provided with a second head (9, Fig. 7) the spacing between the heads corresponding to the staggering of the notches.
