Abstract
1,236,626. Photo-mechanical printing screens. W. CORDARO. Nov.8, 1968 [March 27, 1968; July 16, 1968], No.53167/68. Heading G2M. A contact screen for rotogravure direct printing and offset printing comprises a plurality of dots separated by first and second sets of parallel lines, the width and the number of lines per unit length in the first set differing from the width and the number of lines per unit length in the second set, each dot being composed of a plurality of zones each extending from the centre to a side of the dot and having a density gradation therein varying progressively from the centre to the side, the density gradation in each zone differing from the density gradation in the zones on either side thereof. Preferably the screen has the structure shown, the sub-division lines in the dots denoting density gradation.
