Abstract

1,236,024. Measuring power press loading electrically. WESTLAND AIRCRAFT Ltd. May 30, 1969, No.39757/67. Heading G1N. Apparatus for distinguishing between a working stroke and an idling stroke of a power press so that the number of working strokes performed may be counted, comprises a strain gauge bridge circuit and a voltage level detector circuit which produces an output signal when the unbalance voltage of the bridge exceeds an adjustable, pre-set, value. The strain gauges may be mounted directly on a strained part of the power press or may be mounted on a stress concentrating member mounted on the power press. The pre-set value may be adjusted by a potentiometer 16 in a feedback circuit of an amplifier 15 or by a reference voltage potentiometer 22. The output signal may energize a relay (23) to operate a counter 19.
