Abstract
1,235,568. Cable glands. BRITISH ENGINES Ltd. 16 Oct., 1969 [7 Dec., 1968], No. 58245/68. Heading H2E. Relative tightening of the male 1 and female 3 parts of a terminating gland, for an electric cable, forces the collar 5 against the internal bearing surface of the male part so reducing the diameter of the collar until it grips the cable 6, thus enabling different sizes of cable to be accommodated. The internal bearing surface 4 may be of nylon. A backstop 2 of appropriate size may be used to stopthe cable armouring from passing the gland.
