1,232,987. Measuring moisture content, electrically. A. C. DIBLEY & CO. Ltd. Aug.9, 1968 [Aug.9, 1967], No.36602/67. Heading G1N. Apparatus for measuring the moisture content of a moving paper web comprises a pair of wooden tongs carrying rubber-backed steel electrodes 17 urged together by springs 23 for engaging opposite sides of the paper and an electrical circuit for measuring the conductivity of the paper. Switches (3, 4, 5) enable three different ranges to be selected, by connecting an appropriate one of three different voltage sources to the electrodes Fig.2 (not shown).
