Abstract

1,232,646. Moulding plastic substances &c. S. WESTIN. 28 June, 1968, No. 31048. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] A method of moulding double sided confectionery articles in a mould of plastics sheet material having recesses symmetrically located about at least one longitudinal or lateral fold line, e.g. perforations, comprises filling up the recesses on one side of the fold line and allowing partial setting to provide one half of the article and then filling the other recesses whereupon the first filled recesses are folded through 180 degrees to rest upon the unset halves so effecting bonding of the halves. The sheet may be welded at its edges after folding and the articles cut out of the sheet in suitable bars. If an uneven number of fold lines is used the adjacent fold lines are folded in opposing directions. Two longitudinal fold lines may be arranged so that the distance between each of them and the respective longitudinal sheet edge is one quarter of the total sheet width, the recesses between them and the edges matching those between the fold lines. The moulds may be advanced during feeding by a gear wheel engaging the perforations.
