Abstract

1,232,423. Electro-photographic apparatus. ADDRESSOGRAPH-MULTIGRAPH CORP. June 28, 1968 [July 13, 1967], No.31019/68. Heading G2H. In an electro-photographic copier, an original 18 is illuminated by a mercury-thallium vapour lamp 60. Such a lamp has a wavelength emission which reproduces the different colours of a multicoloured original in shades of grey and black corresponding to their respective brightness. The lamp may also include argon. A copy sheet 20 is driven by rollers 30, 44, 54, 56 to be charged at 24, line-by-line exposed at 26 via mirrors 66, 68 and lens 70, developed at 28 and fixed at 29. The original 18 is placed on a reciprocating transparent table 74. A motor 42 drives the rollers and advances table 74, while a motor 86 reverses table 74. Copy sheet 20 may be dye-sensitized zinc oxide. Suitable dyes are listed.
