Abstract

A mixer head for a synthetic resin, (e.g. polyurethane) foam prepared from two or more components comprises a supply passage 4 for each component opening directly into a discharge passage the diameter of which increases -from the junction towards its outlet 8 over partnat least of its length and is constant for any remaining part; the components are injected with their respective supply passages by jets 2, mix turbulently and are discharged in laminar flow. There are passages 3, 6 for compressed air and flushing medium controlled by a common valve 7. The resin components may be supplied by gear, rotary or piston pumps the capacity of which is matched so that they may be controlled by a time relay; the opening pressure of the jets is adjustable to ensure simultaneous opening, and they close automatically.
