Abstract

1,231,736. Cutting weft; shuttleless looms. AREF S.A. 4 July, 1969 [6 July, 1968], No. 33884/69. Heading DIE. A shuttleless loom with weft selection weaving two fabrics one above the other has weft cutters comprising two notched plates through which all the wefts extend from the supplies to the selvedge and two cooperating pivoted hooked cutters 27, 28 operated by a common rod 40, which severs a selected weft between "the selvedges and the inserters as insertion commences. In use a selected weft for each fabric is pulled backwards into the path of inserters 77, 78 and underneath the hooks of the cutters 27, 28. As insertion commences pivoting of the cutters cuts the wefts between the undersides of the top of the hooks and the bottom of the notches in the plates.
