Abstract
123,135. Fraser, L. M., and Fraser & Co., W. J. Feb. 7, 1918. Rotary batch-mixers.-In a. rotary-drum mixer containing blades or scoops for treating granulated materials, a shoot S extends from the front nearly to the back of the drum F so that material raised by the blades f will fall thereon, the shoot being adjustable either to a position in which all the material that falls thereon from the blades f or from the feed-hopper T is transferred to and deposited at the back of the drum, or to a position in which the materials dropped thereon from the blades will be discharged at the front of the drum. The shoot S is mounted on a semicircular shaft s<1> carried bv a bearing s in a stationary part G of the front end wall of the drum. By turning the shaft s<1>, the shoot can be placed in communication either with the inlet duct g or the outlet duct g<1>. A valve t is provided in the inlet duct g so that a further batch of material can be placed in the hopper in readiness for delivery to the drum as soon as the latter has been emptied.
