A device for hanging articles from a line, such as a clothes line, consists of a top portion and a pendular portion, the top portion being constituted by two end portions 3, 4 of the device, each of the end portions having one or more convolutions for encircling the line whereby the device can pivot freely about the line, the pendular portion 5 comprising a loop portion from which a hook member associated with the article can be suspended, said pendular portion consisting of two downwardly extending portions each of which extends from a said end portion to the bottom of the loop portion.
