Abstract

1,230,734. Resiliently mounted seats. FA. GEBR. ISRINGHAUSEN. 28 Nov., 1969 [14 Dec., 1968], No. 58373/69. Heading A4U In a vehicle seat supported by scissor linkages 1, 2 and movable vertically against the action of springs 16, the resilience of the springs is alterable to suit the weight of the occupant by a linkage movable by an adjusting spindle 26 operable by the seated occupant. Links 2 have rollers movable in guides on the seat frame 8 on which the links 1 are pivoted at 7. Extensions 9 of links 1 are connected by a rod 10 to which an end of each spring 16 is secured, the other end of the spring engaging a double arm lever 17 which is held centrally and pivotally by a lever 18 by which it is connected to an adjusting lever 21 pivoted at 22 on a bearer 5 of the seat frame and having rotatably mounted at its free end a spindle nut 25 which engages the adjusting spindle 26. An axial bearing for the spindle 26 is braced by a pin 30 on a round thrust bearing 29 on the seat frame. Piston rods 12 of dampers 13 are articulated by joint members 11 on the rod 10, the other ends of the dampers being mounted on a spindle 15 secured to the seat frame 8. In modifications more than two springs, or a single damper are provided.
