Abstract

1,229,710. Valves. F. FISCHBACH. 11 March, 1969 [23 March, 1968], No. 12839/69. Heading F2V. Supplying or venting of either one or two working ports 3 and 5, is effected by connecting these either to a supply port 4 or to a venting chamber 2 having an outlet 6 leading therefrom, respectively, with both the direction of fluid flow as well as the quantity of such flow being controlled by a landed spool 8. The spool is maintained in a central or neutral position shown by the provision of two springs 11a and 11b which act between stops 12a, 12b and slotted supports 10a, 10b respectively, whilst movement of the spool towards the right, as seen in the drawing (Fig. 2, not shown), is effected by energizing a solenoid 14a which in turn attracts an armature 15a attached to the lefthand end of the spool, the degree of communication between ports 4 and 5 and ports 3 and 6 being determined by an adjustable stop 17b. Similar limiting control is provided by an adjustable stop 17a which is engaged by armature 15a upon soleniod 14b being energized. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), the spool ends have shafts (22) extending therefrom and beyond the housing, with movement limitation being achieved by providing those portions of the shafts extending beyond the housing with adjustable nuts which engage the housing, actuation of the spool being effected by applying fluid pressure to the appropriate end of the spool.
