Abstract

1,228,919. Rotary pumps. M. SCHROEDER (trading as H. SCHROEDER & CO. ) May 20, 1968 [June 1, 1967], No.23872/68. Heading F1C. [Also in Division F2] Oscillation-free operation of a rotary pump is ensured by a non-return valve arrangement in which the non-return valve 3 has a tapered skirt 3.1 which provides an increasing throttling effect as the valve moves towards its seat 1a. Additional throttling is provided by a separate throttle valve 17. In addition, a by-pass valve 7 which is linked by a lever 9 to the valves 3, 17, opens as the valve 3 closes to divert flow through a by-pass conduit 15 from a point between the valves 3, 17.
