Abstract

1,228,783. Reciprocating pumps. D. R. VAUGHAN AND D. G. VANZEE. April 10, 1968, No.17340/68. Heading F1A. A stroke adjusting motor for a hydraulic pump comprises a rod 32 the end 33 of which is subjected to pump outlet pressure. Movement is resisted by a spring 48 and assisted by a spring 28. As shown the rod 32 engages a swash-plate 58 through a cylinder 64 slidable on a sleeve 66 having a groove 70 connected to the pump outlet through a safety valve 78 which opens at maximum pressure to put the swash-plate into neutral position. The force of the springs may be adjusted by means of a plug 20 and a screwed connection 18.
